Questions we are asked most

Timelines, pricing, ownership and support, answered plainly. If yours is not here, just ask.

Orders

Not for DTF transfer printing — we will do a single shirt. Screen printing has a setup cost per colour, so it only makes financial sense from about twenty garments upwards. Embroidery has no setup, so a dozen golf shirts is perfectly reasonable.

Either. We stock conti-suits, overalls, hi-vis, golf shirts, t-shirts and caps, which for most companies is simpler than sourcing garments separately and bringing them in. If you already have garments we are happy to brand them, though we cannot accept responsibility for a fabric that reacts badly to the process.

For screen printing we mix ink to your reference and keep it on file. For embroidery we pick the closest thread and show you before the run. For powder coating we work to standard RAL numbers. Give us the colour reference rather than a printout, because printers and screens shift colour.

Artwork

Vector artwork gives the best result — an AI, EPS, PDF or SVG file. If all you have is a photograph of an old shirt or a logo from a business card, send it anyway. We redraw it at no charge on a full run and give you the redrawn file to keep.

Yes. Every screen printing order over a hundred pieces gets one printed garment for approval, and every embroidery job gets a test stitch-out on the same fabric as your garments. Nothing goes into production until you have signed it off.

Steelwork

We fabricate to drawing. For anything structural — roof trusses, mezzanines, anything people stand on or that carries a roof — you need an engineer's drawing, and we will tell you that early rather than after quoting. For gates, bars, grilles and general steelwork we design and measure ourselves.

Both. Gates, burglar bars and grilles are normally fitted by us, because the people who made it are the best people to hang it. Structural steel is usually delivered marked up for your own erection crew, though we can arrange installation if you need it.

Yes. We run a mobile unit with its own generator for breakdowns, plant repairs and modifications that cannot come to the workshop. Same-day attendance where we can manage it.

Pricing

A firm written price against a stated specification, not an hourly rate. For garments that means the garment, the method, the number of colours and the placement. For steel it means the section sizes, the finish and whether installation is included. Once those are written down, quotes can be compared like for like.

Fifty per cent to begin and the balance on collection or delivery. Garments and steel both have to be bought before anything can be made, so the deposit covers materials rather than profit. On larger fabrication contracts we split payment across agreed stages.

Lead times

Small print runs go out in two to four days. Bulk workwear of a few hundred garments takes two to three weeks including sizing. Gates and burglar bars run two to three weeks from measuring. Structural steel depends on tonnage and drawing approval, and we give you a date we can hold rather than an optimistic one.

Usually, and we will tell you honestly if we cannot. If a date is going to slip you will hear it from us as soon as we know, not on the day it was due.

Still not sure?

Ask us anything about your project. We answer honestly, including when the answer is that you do not need what you were about to buy.
